A few thoughts off the top of my head, perhaps you have tried all these, perhaps not. Perhaps not what you want to hear but if you have access to a standard ISA (not pc104) vidio card, you could make an adapter, the standard ISA slot and the pc104 pins are a 1 to 1 map. I have even been known to directly wire wrap to the pc104 pins... not a pretty sight. Several companys sell these as well, but then there is cost and time. Another suggestion (a reach I know, but perhaps...) is to check out the blinux site. Since they have advice for blind linux users, they may discuss ways to get around problems when you cannot see the screen. This is a reach, but it might pan out. http://www.leb.net/pub/blinux/ Did you enable apm in the kernel? That can cause hangs at boot with some architectures. Last thoughts, is there a way (perhaps with a differnt OS like dos) to confirm that the disk on chip is being seen correcty? OR Can you put on a 3.5" floppy and boot from that (dos or linux) and then check out the chip? Or you could try temporarily hooking the system to a hard disk that has a good linux distribution on it and boot that way for testing.
