Hmmm, for your display, if you want a HMD then you need to throw gobs of money at it to get something true VGA or better. some camcorder viewfinders (NOT LCD) have excellent resolution, but converting the vga signal to ntsc for the viewfinder will degrade your resolution a bit (my sony handi-cam viewfinder has 3 times the resolution that the M-1 has.. I can read 80 column text on it easily, unfortunately my camcorder refuses to die so I can rob the viewfinder off it) If your laptop is atandard IDE then you should be able to go to 512meg on the hard drive.. but this is 100% bios dependant. I have a gridpad that will take a 512meg hdd, and one that will not. the only difference is the bios. some laptop manufacturers like to force the user to use only their brand or sizes of hard drives. Lastly... there is a 60%- 70% chance that you will destroy the laptop circutry upon extraction. I dis-embowel laptops on a regular basis and I destroy beyond repair about 25% . your sucess rate goes up with every death or sucessful transplant. and be forwarned, there are nasty little tricks that laptop manufacturers have to mount things that tend to cause destruction in the process.... treat it like a live bomb and you will have better success. -----Original Message----- From: Mat <> To:
