In our lab we use frame capture cards based around the BT848 chip
(hauppage wintv etc...).. which work very well.. they are adaquate for
video capture and image processing, but some of the cheaper cards do not
have the input filter and the image is a bit noisy. but then again what
do you expect for 25 quid !!...

oh yeah ... linux 2.2 kernel has built in drivers for the bt848 ;)
