actually that size of a display does quite well with gps and other things. It's not displaying everything at once that allow's this. In fact I have found that at times only small icons are needed. my gps displays a small arrow at the top right to guide me (Actually points to a relative north right now) email indication is a numerical display at the bottom left. and the rest is mostly blank when not actively in use. then I use pager to switch between apps or desktops. I would love to have a real 640x480 greyscale... but that is still way in the future for affordable versions...
