Slightly OT: audio circuit needed

From:

I recently picked up a GPS reciever/software package for use with my laptop.
It speaks the directions, and since my the speakers in my laptop are pretty
wimpy, I have to plug it into the stereo to hear it.
The upshot of this is that can't listen to music while I'm using it. So
I'm looking for a circuit that will pass an audio signal along until it gets
a second signal (from the GPS) and switch to that one instead.
Does anyone know of a commercial gadget/gizmo/etc, or maybe have a schematic
that I could use to build one from scratch?

Thanks,

Paul Archer
