I recently decided to get a PCMCIA card to interface my portable to my Twiddler. I was quite amazed and pleased to find that Extreme Computing was offering one with a ready-made Twiddler cable -- just what I wanted. So I ordered it, requesting 2-day shipping. A week later, no delivery. So I called, and they said they were waiting for a Berg connector, but they'd ship it "real soon now," and would throw in the shipping for free. A week later, nothing. So I e-mailed, and they said they were having trouble figuring out how to make it, but they'd have it soon. So I asked how long they thought it would be. A few days later, the response was that they wished they'd never offered this product, and would I take a free PCMCIA card with no cable to forget the whole thing? I said never mind, just cancel the order. My impression is that they had the best of intentions, but if they can't figure out how to make a cable in this much time (they said they already had a prototype working, but were having trouble with the production model), I have to wonder at their overall competency. Just a heads up if you're planning to order from them... -- Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" toWear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.blu.org
