Speaking of chording keyboards and maps, Does anyone have any pointers
to *how* to design a keyboard layout?

I have some idea from the Chording Glove phd thesis on how I should
spread the work out among the fingers, but I don't know how to do chord
assignments according to a key frequency chart. There are also some
adjustments that one should make, like having two adjoining keys be
open and close paren, since (at least I do) frequently use them right
next to each other. Also maybe it'd be useful to overlay 1-9 with
F1-F9, with a major key like the thumb being different.

Does anyone have any guidelines?

help?
