BOTHELL, Wash., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- In a joint presentation with
Leica Geosystems AG, at the Coordinate Measurement Systems Committee
(CMSC) Conference held last week in Seattle, Microvision, Inc. (Nasdaq:
MVIS) unveiled a beta version of a lightweight head-worn display for
industrial applications.
Integrated with Leica's LTD500 laser tracking system, the see-through
display enabled show attendees to read real-time contour, surface
measurement, and coordinate data overlaid on the work area. While using
the system the user's hands can remain free to position the tracker's
reflectors, to manipulate tools or to align or join parts. Information is
arranged in the field of view to leave vision unobstructed, improving
productivity and workplace safety. The high brightness of the Microvision
display is a unique advantage since the user must be able to clearly see
images in bright ambient light conditions.
