| But what?

Well, 'but its not high res, and I prefer to read/write
email/text on my PalmPilot than use the glasses'.

Although text is ok, its a little bit of a strain ...
not really its forte. Its bonuses include (IMHO):
* lightweight
* foldable/ portable
* not too fragile
* great audio quality
* head tracker
* lens transmits light (you can see through them, if
ambient light is good)
* video can be stereo (from VGA or composite source)

| Is it battery powered or are you tethered to an AC outlet?

It uses 9v/12v and generally I run them from power
adaptor. This is more because I dont have a laptop,
than anything. I sometimes stow a cordless phone base
station in a 'gadget bag' I use .... this has provision
to power the glasses, as well as charge my cellular
phone and modem hotsynch a PalmPilot -- but I dont use
it.

The reality of using VR gear in public is .... scary.
*shrug* Ive tried on a couple of trams and trains, and
people *definately* notice. I am in Australia. :/

| You can pick 'em up fo $599 US.

So I hear... I got mine 2 years ago now, with the head
tracking. (worth it)
