ghettoModem

Hello. A friend and I had an idea which we are currently pursuing which
might be good for net connection for wearables. The idea is to basically
hook up a phone handset to a modem (and maybe to run a small current through
it to simulate a line being used?) and basically sign on to an internet
service (perhaps through a home computer that's hooked up through a different
line) by 69ing the ghettoModem (mic to speaker and speaker to mic) with a
payphone or some other handy phone, probably with some sound insulation
around the connections so as to avoid interference... Anyone have any
thoughts? Are there any pitfalls an unexperienced person such as myself
should know about, or has anyone ever done something like this before?
