Ah, I can see how that would be considered quite humorous.
Yes, hahahahahahahahahaha. (Quote, Data)
Seriously, some of the HMDs are very inconspicuous, and others
look like you have part of a camcorder strapped in front of your head.
They *are* expensive though...and especially so for the inconspicuous
ones.
I just picked up a Virtual Boy game set -- it used a very sophisticated
display system (P4) which I hope to remove, repackage, and use
in a wearable for myself. I'll probably have to write some type of
interface and put it on a cartridge system, then stick the rest of the
console on my belt. Its big case was basically just for the case and
the optics -- should repackage into something fairly small.
(Yes guys, I know that the two displays were counterbalanced -- can
you say centrally mounted potentially binocular display, with
individually
maskable eyepieces? I need to see how small the main display is,
first, though. The P4 was tiny, if memory serves.)
First, though, I need to figure out how to crack into the thing, and
hopefully without destroying the case. (I am going to file down a
screwdriver to the right shape)

I like the outfit worn by one bicyclist -- he rides a recumbent
(a la-z-boy on wheels a.k.a. freak bike, http://www.recumbents.com)
and through his helmet he wears a rainbow striped clown wig.
He figured that if he was going to get attention just for being
himself, he might as well get as much of it as he could. Pretty
healthy attitude!
