Look at the $6.95 USD IBM Serial IrDA unit, at http://www.bgmicro.com/lmad.htm; BG Micro's a decent company, I've bought one of these from them, as well as lots of other goodies. (Haven't started using it, YET.) If you need, I can ship you one if they don't ship internationally (Global Priority Mail is fast & fairly inexpensive, $5-6 USD so $16 or so total.) Unit does have a "power in" jack, the friend that's used his says that it works OK without that, adding power there gives the unit more range. I can test mine & see, if you want (For a wearable, I'd leave it disconnected by default, maybe use a switch for "long range".) CC'ed you as the wear-hard list is kicking me off, due to some person's mailbox being full & kicking me off every couple days. May have to reply off-list mostly for a while, darnit!
