What can I Thor> achieve myself? For that price range you can put something together from used/discarded camcorder parts and spend your money on a converter to get the vga output of your rig to it. Don't expect high resolution. Alternatively, you could skip the HMD and go for a "dribble tray" - using a laptop display, mount it on your chest so that you can swing it out so you can see it when you need it. Have a look at the picture of Doug Plat at http://www.cs.vassar.edu/~priestdo/wearable.pics.html to see what I mean. Doug started with a machine that was designed to use pen input, put it on a pair of suspenders and added a hip mounted keyboard. Several other folks use this approach as well. Once you get the bucks for a HMD you can move the rig off your chest, till then, you have a system you can walk around with. Greg -- Greg Priest-Dorman
