MINIMAL SYSTEM: Input: Home-made handheld chording keyboard, connected to the parallel port. Output: Flippable Laptop-LCD mounted on chest, or tiny display on wrist. Function: Memory assistant, a PC you don't need to sit down to use. CPU: 386SX 25-33MHz at minimum, 486DX 66-100MHz is just right. RAM: 4-8 MB at minimum, 8-16 MB is just right. Storage: 200-300 MB. Uptime: 6 hours (the length of a day at school). Weight: Uh...not too heavy. The weight of a laptop from 198x (a few kilos).
