This time of year, I can think of a wonderful use to put the energy to, too -- string up Christmas lights along the power lines... So - does anyone have 10 miles of wire to spare? How much energy? It seems to me it depends highly on how close your coil is to the power line. I'll go think about V = ILxB some more.
