The PLM-S700 is the PC compatable one and will do true 800x600 color. Higher actually as it will do the Mac resolution of 832x624. Back of the box says ".7 inch lcd 1,557,000 dots, approx. 30 inches 1.2m ahead." The specs at the url you gave would indicate that these new ones will do something around 300x200 color (just my guess based on the number of pixels listed). So you are below qvga (320x240). Fusion624> It also says it shouldn't be used by people under 15. Why? I think this has to do with it using both eyes. The images are optically at a particular fixed distance away and at the same time a fixed spacing apart. There is strain in making them match. Young developing brains may be in some way permanently affected by trying to make that match (I would guess Sony has been advised this could be a problem and hence the warning). I got a bad headache the next day with prolonged use. I am a tad over 15 (er, 15 x 2.6). I find the headache does not occur if you only use one eye, either by removeing one side of the optics as Thad recommends or by covering up one side with tape - not good for walking around, but good for learning which side you want to remove. I am not making ANY claims of safty for folks under 15, I am just saying I get headaches when I tried using it with both eyes and I don't when using it on one or the other eye (as I do with the M1).
