How to drive a TFT?

My old (slow) laptop has finally crashed when I accidentily connected it
to the 12 V high current batteries from my wearable (10 Ah) instead of
through the 12V->18V DC converter. (I used the same type of DC-connector
for both)

Now I intend to make a wall projector of the 800x600 TFT screen.

Does anyone have any hints about how to drive such a display?
