In the "dechirped" image, the railway ties are equally spaced. Thus we have periodicity, and could describe the periodicity with a weighted sum of sines and cosines (Fourier basis).
Recognizing the structure of the tracks comprising a main straightaway, a switch, and a secondary run, is quite easy in the dechirped domain. Finding the artist is another matter. You've really got to squint a bit and stretch your imagination. (Hint: close 1 eye and look from the upper left corner of the xmosaic window.)
